Cheshire P.B.A., Inc.

The Cheshire P.B.A., Inc. was formed in 1966 under the name, "Mutual Aid Association" in order to help officers in a time of need. Today, the P.B.A. still exists for that same reason and continues to grow and serve the officers of the Cheshire Police Department as they serve the community.policebikes

We have expanded our role to better the serve the families of our officers. We realize that the sacrifices inherent in police work such as difficult shifts, dangerous work and traumatic scenes affect the entire police family, not just the officer. We have provided training in sensitive incidents such as how to best notify a family of an officer's death and how to assist the grieving family.

Since 2008, we have aided our officers by beginning a Peer Assistance Program. Officers within our ranks have been trained and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management. They volunteer to serve as confidential peer counselors for fellow officers who may be in need.

When you need help, you call the police.

When the police need help, they call the Cheshire P.B.A. !
